This is a one in a billion story of a young man, reaching for the highest levels in his sport.  Zou Shiming, the two time Gold Medal Olympic Champion, is China’s ambassador to boxing. From his early days in Zunyi China to Olympic rings in Athens, Beijing and London, and onward to the professional stages of Las Vegas and Macau, Zou has won at every level. The pinnacles of winning Olympic gold and representing his country are dear to him. These experiences motivate him today in his pursuit to be a World Champion.

In his corner is Freddy Roach, the Hall of Fame trainer of seven time world champion, Manny Pacquiao.  At ringside is Top Rank’s President, the Hall of Fame promoter of arguably the greatest boxer of all time,  Muhammad Ali, the incomparable Bob Arum. Through the years Mr. Arum has promoted championship bouts with the “Four Horsemen” Hagler , Hearns, Leonard, Duran, and the heavy weights, Frazier, and Norton.  This is lofty company for Zou Shiming.  They reveal that Zou has the drive and talent to be a world champion. Also Edward Tracey the CEO of the The Venetian Hotel states that Zou has opened the sport in China with long reaching positive results.

China’s Golden Boy of boxing, is Zou Shiming.

Through in depth interviews, with his family, coaches, his handlers we see an extraordinary man, dedicated to his family, his country and his sport. There is close, candid and personal footage of Zou, training in Los Angles, along with conversations with him at the Wild Card gym, in his Hollywood Hills home and in Shanghai about integrity, faith, hope, country and family. The pain, the hunger, the injuries, and the loneliness on the narrow road to becoming a World Champion are discussed at length.

Boxing has brought him to new frontiers, fame, riches and honor. A World Champion belt is within his grasp.  Young Chinese girls and boys dreaming of being the next Zou Shiming are competing in boxing tournaments in his hometown. The influence he has had on the growing boxing culture in China cannot be dismissed.

Zou Shiming’s time is now. This is his story.
